PROTECTED LANDSCAPE
A resort designed around its natural setting.
Minthis sits within a protected Cypriot landscape where nature informs the way the resort is planned, experienced and cared for. The wider setting—part of a Natura 2000 area spanning approximately five million square metres—calls for a thoughtful relationship between accommodation, golf, infrastructure and open land.
Our approach is organised around three connected commitments: environmental care and innovation, the safeguarding of local culture and heritage, and practical social responsibility. Together, they keep the character of the landscape at the centre of decision-making.
BIODIVERSITY & DESIGN
Making room for what was already here.
Only a small proportion of the Minthis estate is developed; the wider landscape is retained as natural terrain. Indigenous planting, protected flora and fauna, reforestation and the encouragement of biodiversity all support a philosophy of preservation and restoration.
The masterplan was refined to avoid disturbing the Bonelli’s eagle nesting at Minthis, while buildings are carefully set into their surroundings rather than placed upon them. This approach brings contemporary design into dialogue with Cypriot architecture, protected habitat and the historic 12th-century Stavros tis Minthis Monastery.
WATER STEWARDSHIP
Treating water as a shared resource.
In Cyprus’ warm Mediterranean climate, water conservation is fundamental to the way Minthis operates. The golf facilities follow established water-management practices that help guide the resort’s wider approach to efficient resource use.
A dedicated recycling strategy includes two on-site reservoirs, water treatment and reuse. Grey water from the residences and clubhouse is collected and processed through a treatment plant capable of handling up to 1,500 cubic metres a day, then reused for irrigation across private and public landscaped areas as well as the course.
CULTURE & HERITAGE
A living connection to Cyprus.
At Minthis, meaningful travel begins with the ability to experience a place on its own terms. The estate brings guests closer to the island’s history and landscape through the restored Stavros tis Minthis Monastery, herb gardens, vineyards, trails and carefully hosted outdoor experiences.
The five-kilometre nature trail connects with the E4 European walking route, while the wider programme can include cycling, stargazing, birdwatching, yoga and guided encounters with local food and craft. We also work with small businesses and guides to help guests discover village traditions, mountain landscapes and the character of the Troodos region.

A nature-led resort relies on the people and communities who make it work. Minthis is committed to supporting a healthy, safe and fair workplace, because a positive team culture is fundamental to the quality of every guest experience.
The estate also stays closely connected to its community through local sourcing, small-business partnerships and support for initiatives with shared environmental and cultural aims. Honey from the resort’s hives, mint from the herb garden, wine from the vineyards, olives from the groves and produce from neighbouring farms all speak to a more local and reciprocal way of operating.
